Open Enrollment: May 1 – May 18, 2026

We are excited to launch the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Open Enrollment season. Our goal is to make this process as smooth as possible for all active and retired members in the Aetna commercial health plan.

♦ Do I Need to Take Action?

No action is required if BOTH of the following are true:

  1. You are not making any changes to your coverage.
  2. You are not required to complete the Working Spouse Rule (WSR) Certification.

Action IS required if you are making changes or if you received a letter requiring WSR Certification.

♦ The Enrollment Process

If you need to make changes to your existing coverage:

  1. Complete: Fill out the Enrollment Form – Download Here.
  2. Submit: Send your completed form to your District Benefit Representative (DBR).
  3. Review: Your DBR will review, approve, and forward the form to HBC Support.
  4. Document Upload: If you are adding new dependents, you must upload the required documentation to our secure portal. View Dependent Eligibility Verification Requirements.

♦ Working Spouse Rule (WSR) Certification

Please refer to the personalized Open Enrollment letter to see if you must complete the WSR certification for the 2026-2027 benefit year.
